It is somehow one of the biggest media stories of recent times, even though nobody in the media seems to actually be writing about it. What's going on? Depending on who you ask, there are somewhere between 11 and 5000 drones floating above New Jersey and nobody is quite sure what they’re doing there.
With a story like this, the important thing is the footage. Sadly, it seems everybody is filming it on phones they bought in the early 2000s, because I’ve barely seen a strong bit of video evidence. What I have seen, is various important people from New Jersey giving press conferences where they tell us “this is very important, and we have absolutely no idea what’s going on.”
Aliens
Have aliens come to visit from another planet? The evidence to support this theory is:
There are heaps of unidentified objects flying around in the skies above Bruce Springsteen’s house, and nobody knows where they've come from.
The evidence against it?
Mainly my own scepticism based on the fact that, whenever there’s an UFO story, it usually comes from America. When aliens finally do pay us a visit, I expect them to turn up in Bari, Italy, or perhaps in Bysyttakh, Russia. When I hear it’s happening near to New York, I assume it’s fake.
The War Theory
Many podcasters are suggesting it could be an act of aggression from another country, namely Iran. If this is true - I’m assuming the unidentified flying objects weren’t flown direct from the Middle East. Therefore, the Iranians would need to have bought or rented these drones from somewhere in the New Jersey area. Given that some witnesses say “the drones are as big as buses,” I’m thinking there are only so many stores where these particular type of drones are in stock. If you know of any of these shops - maybe let the authorities know.
The Government
With tensions rising between Russia and the USA, and the ongoing conflict in Gaza, many have been wondering what actions will be taken by the American government. Rumours have been circulating that Joe Biden - in a moment of senile confusion - accidentally launched a drone attack on one of his own cities. This may sound unlikely, but it’s as good an explanation as the others.
Project Blue Beam
Project Blue Beam is a conspiracy theory believed by around 9 to 12 people, and they all happen to comment on every video posted about the drones.
As best as I can understand, Project Blue Beam is a theory that the government are going to stage a fake alien invasion, either as a distraction technique, or as a way of controlling the masses.
Why might this be true? Because those who believe it are ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN IT'S TRUE.
You can try arguing with them, saying a) “It seems far fetched,” or b) “have you considered that staging an alien invasion is quite difficult?” Either response will lead to you being labelled a naive mainstreamer.
If the Blue Beam theory is true, don't look to your government, or the authorities, or even the newspapers for answers. The truth is only known by some guys in the comment sections on YouTube and TikTok. Tune into those guys for more updates.
An Elaborate Prank
We've all had ideas for pranks. For most people, they're quite low key. I remember one of my pranks, leaving random Burger King meals outside my friend Paul's house. It seemed hilarious and we thought we were driving him insane, but it turned out that I was just spending all my money and Paul was getting loads of free meals.
On reflection, it wasn't a great prank, and it was also very expensive.
Now imagine a prank where you have hundreds of the biggest, most complex drones ever made. You transport them all to New Jersey, fly them, and avoid the FBI for an entire month.
If this is a prank, it's very well executed and far more ambitious than buying a few Burger King meals.
It's an Overreaction
One theory is that it's not a big deal.
Some say, “there are some drones, who cares?”
Others say, “it's probably just some airplanes.”
The government response fits into this category. They've basically said “We don't know what's happening but we don't think they're dangerous, so don't worry. But let us know if it does turn out to be the Russians or Iran.”
Conclusion
We don't know if these drones are friendly, or evil. It's possible they may be somewhere in-between — mostly benign but occasionally irritable.
One thing that people deserve to know is - what are they doing? Is it all random or are they collecting information? And is the average person’s privacy at risk? Are they filming and storing data?
Whether it is a prank, or an elaborate act of aggression from a foreign power, one thing is for certain; the perpetrators do not have the right to view the people of New Jersey wandering around in their underwear.
It's very confusing to those of us who care about this story. It seems absurd that hundreds of these things are crowding the skies of The Garden State. But with the police, government and local officials all saying, “meh, it's weird, but whatever, don't worry about it,” it increasingly seems like it's down to internet sleuths to figure out what's happening.
